Castlevania Belmont's Curse: release status and first steps

Castlevania Belmont's Curse is available now: Konami's current official site lists an October 15, 2026 release. Its later July notice also confirms that date for Nintendo Switch, superseding the June announcement that still left Switch timing open. Do not read the older announcement alone as the current platform status.

The game follows Rose Belmont in 1499 Paris, after Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. This guide is based on Konami’s published systems and platform information checked October 20. It is not a completed-playthrough review, and it avoids invented boss solutions or collectible locations.

Konami presents the Vampire Killer whip as both an attack and a way to traverse the environment. Its PlayStation announcement emphasizes swinging movement alongside combat. Treat those as related skills when learning the controls: a move that changes position may matter as much as one that removes health.

Our suggested opening routine is to practice movement in an area you understand before trying to combine it with an unfamiliar enemy. Notice where an input carries Rose and where she lands. If a route looks just out of reach, reconsider the tools you have learned rather than assuming that every gap has the same solution.

This is an exploration game, so leave yourself a useful note when you meet a barrier. Describe the obstacle and what you tried, without concluding that a specific late-game ability must be required. A promotional movement example is not evidence for the exact solution to a room you have not explored.

The current official site describes defeated bosses becoming Arcana in Rose’s tarot cards, providing spells and special actions. It also describes seven weapon categories and Relics with offensive and defensive effects. Those systems create choices, but the official overview is not a tested damage ranking.

When a new tool becomes available, read its description and try it somewhere familiar. Compare reach, commitment and positioning before replacing several pieces of equipment at once. A setup that looks powerful on paper can still be awkward if you do not understand when it leaves you exposed.

Our recommendation is to keep the comparison simple: one encounter type, one changed choice and a note about what became easier or harder. That produces a personal, reproducible reason for using a weapon. It avoids a speculative “best build” assembled from item names alone. We do not publish a complete Arcana unlock order or claim that a specific boss must be tackled first.

The official product information distinguishes the Switch version’s frame-rate target from the other versions and lists different storage requirements. These are published specifications, not measurements from GameRadar hardware testing. Read the current listing for your platform before downloading; an announcement trailer is not a substitute for the store’s installation requirements.

The June edition announcement describes the main game and the extra content in Midnight Edition. Bonus costumes and a gallery should be separated from the basic question of whether the Standard Edition includes the adventure. Also check current bonus availability instead of assuming an old pre-order offer lasts indefinitely.
