Deep Dish Dungeon: cooking, exploration and co-op preparation

Updated 3 min readBy GameRadar Editorial

Deep Dish Dungeon is out. Understand its camp-and-exploration loop, check the demo and avoid conflicting co-op player-count claims.

Deep Dish Dungeon: what is available now

Deep Dish Dungeon released on October 13, 2026, according to its Steam and Xbox listings. Behold Studios develops it and Raw Fury publishes it. Steam also lists a demo. It is a dungeon-exploration game built around gathering, crafting and cooking, rather than a game about managing a pizza restaurant.

This guide uses the developer and publisher descriptions checked October 20. It is a practical preparation guide, not a hands-on review or a solved dungeon route. Start from the official store for your platform, and distinguish the demo from the purchased game before planning a session with friends.

The camp is part of progression

The official descriptions connect dungeon expeditions with improving a campsite. Materials collected while exploring feed into tools and meals; recipes can affect stats. That makes a return to camp part of the loop, rather than simply an interruption between fights.

Our suggested first-session approach is to understand one complete outing: leave camp, investigate a manageable area, collect resources and return to inspect what they enable. Read a recipe’s ingredients and effect before spending supplies. If a tool and a meal compete for the same material, decide which immediate problem you are trying to solve instead of crafting whichever appears first.

Keep a short note of a doorway, obstacle or resource you could not use. A useful note says what blocked progress and what you had already tried. That gives the next expedition a purpose without relying on an invented list of mandatory upgrades or a claimed universal best dish.

Explore deliberately when the route is unclear

Steam describes a handcrafted dungeon with puzzles and metroidvania elements, and the publisher emphasizes observation and resourcefulness. Our recommendation is to change one thing at a time when stuck: inspect the surroundings, reread a clue, reconsider your tools and then test a hypothesis.

Do not assume every closed path has a nearby switch or that every enemy must be fought immediately. The sources establish exploration and varied enemy behavior, but not a complete solution for each room. A precise observation is more useful than wandering without a question, and more honest than treating a promotional screenshot as a walkthrough.

If you are playing the demo, remember that its boundaries may differ from the full game. Check its current store description before searching for a feature you cannot find. We have not verified that a particular full-game item, late area or save transfer is available in the demo.

Co-op: the official pages disagree on the count

Check the current lobby limit before arranging a group. Steam’s description says solo or up to two friends, while Raw Fury’s page says up to three friends. Xbox’s prose also says two friends, but its capability label says online co-op for two to four. We will not silently turn those inconsistent listings into a guaranteed player count for every build.

For a first co-op session, confirm that everyone owns or can access the same appropriate version and verify invitations in the live client. The Xbox listing separately describes console online-multiplayer requirements; review your existing entitlement instead of buying a subscription based on this guide. Cross-platform labels should also be checked against the actual platforms your group uses.

Once together, agree how you will share discoveries. One person reading a clue while another changes the environment can make a puzzle harder to understand. Compare what each player noticed before splitting up. For another newly released action game with a different pace, see our Valor Mortis preparation guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is Deep Dish Dungeon released?
Yes. Steam and Xbox list October 13, 2026. The Steam page also offers a demo, which is a separate way to assess the game before purchasing.
How many people can play co-op?
The official pages conflict: Steam says up to two friends, Raw Fury says three, and Xbox’s capability label says two to four. Confirm the current lobby and platform support before organizing a group.
Is cooking just cosmetic?
The publisher describes recipes with effects on stats and food as part of progression. We have not independently tested individual recipes, so there is no unsupported best-food ranking here.
