Home: the 14th-anniversary update, official stores and first play
BancyCo updated Home in October 2026. Find the original choice-led horror adventure, understand the anniversary announcement and plan a spoiler-light first play.
Which Home is this, and what changed in October?
This is Home — A Unique Horror Adventure, the pixel-art murder mystery from BancyCo, formerly Benjamin Rivers Inc. It is an existing game first released in 2012, not a newly discovered 2026 sequel. The developer's October 22, 2026 anniversary announcement says it has updated the Steam version, refreshed iOS and brought the game to Google Play for the first time.
That announcement also introduces an Epic Games Store edition and advertises a free October 22–29 window, with PC, iOS and Android named. This is a dated developer announcement, not a promise that every region, device or storefront will show the same offer. Open the developer's linked official store for your platform and inspect the current listing before claiming or buying. We have not completed a checkout or tested cross-store ownership.
Play the mystery before researching the ending
The original premise is waking in a dark, unfamiliar house, with your choices shaping how the mystery is understood. The developer advertises multiple paths and endings. For a first run, our recommendation is to keep your own interpretation rather than consult a list of supposedly correct choices before each scene. A branching story can lose its personal impact if you treat another player's decisions as mandatory inputs.
When something seems contradictory, note what you actually saw and what you merely inferred. Those are useful separate categories in a subjective mystery. Do not assume that remembering another player's video makes your own sequence wrong. This is an approach to reading the story, not confirmation of an unseen branching rule or a claim that every optional interaction changes an ending. We have not verified an exact route or an achievement unlock sequence.
Choose a version by its actual listing
Start from BancyCo's game page and anniversary post to avoid confusing this short title with unrelated games. Check the publisher or developer identity, selected platform and edition before installation. A Steam update announcement does not establish that an old mobile purchase, an Epic claim and a console copy share one entitlement or save file.
If you are revisiting the game, identify where you originally obtained it before purchasing a second copy. Use that platform's normal library and update controls, then compare the installed product with the current official page. We do not invent patch contents, a universal cross-save procedure or a transfer guarantee. The developer post establishes that updates exist; it does not provide a full technical migration guide.
Treat Postmortem Mode as an edition detail, not an opening walkthrough
The developer's game page specifically advertises an exclusive Postmortem Mode developer diary and gallery for the Nintendo Switch version. That wording should not be silently extended to every other edition. If that extra material is the reason for your purchase, check the precise current listing rather than assume the anniversary update adds it to all platforms.
For a spoiler-light session, consider leaving explanatory material and ending discussions until after your first interpretation. This is our reading-order recommendation, not a verified requirement for unlocking the mode. We do not claim a particular menu path, completion flag or length. A developer diary and a walkthrough answer different questions: one discusses the work, while the other may replace the discoveries you wanted to make yourself.
Keep a useful record if something does not work
If installation or launch fails, write down the platform, edition and visible error before seeking help through the official storefront. Do not replace the game with a random executable or erase save data as a first response. If the issue is a missing promotion, distinguish the dated announcement from the offer currently shown to your account. We cannot inspect account eligibility or recover a purchase.
For another horror game with a different visual transition, see Tenebris Somnia, which combines retro play with live-action sequences. For cooperative Roblox horror, our HUSH guide covers a separate extraction premise. Neither page supplies Home's ending answers. This guide will add exact procedures only when supported by evidence rather than guesses about the title.
