HUNGER on Steam: playtest requests and Early Access status

Updated 3 min readBy GameRadar Editorial

HUNGER by GOOD FUN CORPORATION is still coming soon on Steam. Distinguish test access from release and understand the planned extraction RPG without false launch claims.

Is HUNGER released on Steam?

The Steam page for HUNGER, app 1752080, checked on October 23, 2026 still says Coming soon and This game is not yet available on Steam. It credits GOOD FUN CORPORATION as developer and publisher. This is its first-person extraction RPG in a plague-ravaged version of Napoleonic Europe, not a licensed Hunger Games title identified by a similar search phrase.

The same page separately offers Join the Hunger Playtest and Request Access. A test application is not a purchase or proof of immediate admission. We have not joined a test or completed an expedition. The developer discloses mature content including intense violence and horror; check the current store notices if suitability matters to your group. This guide does not assign an unverified age rating.

Request access without treating a test as the full launch

Use the playtest request on the correct Steam app and read the response shown to your account. Steam says requesters are notified when the developer is ready for more participants. Keep that distinction when organizing friends: someone who can request access is not necessarily someone who can already install and join the same test build.

Our recommendation is to establish the actual state before searching for a fix. Is your account waiting for admission, has an application appeared in your library, or does an installed build fail to launch? Those are different situations. Do not pay an unaffiliated key seller or submit an account cookie to a site claiming it can accelerate approval. We have not verified a guaranteed acceptance time, an open-beta schedule or test-to-launch progress transfer.

Understand the extraction plan and what progression does not protect

The developer describes solo, duo or trio expeditions with both ranged and melee combat, rival players and hostile creatures. It distinguishes long-term character progression from equipment that may be lost. Its advertised no-forced-wipes direction does not mean every carried item survives a failed expedition, and it does not establish that a test character will transfer to release.

Before a group session, agree whether the immediate goal is a quest, learning an encounter or returning with resources. A player trying to preserve equipment may make different choices from one seeking every fight. These are planning suggestions, not a tested safe route. We do not publish an optimal loadout, extraction location or a claim that solo play creates an offline private world.

Chateau, professions and roadmap are different kinds of information

The store describes Chateau as a social hub and lists gathering/crafting professions, quests, reputation and trading within the game. Those are planned systems, not a verified recipe list, a measured market price or an instruction to use an external trading service. Inspect the current build's own descriptions before committing resources.

The Early Access statement estimates about two years and says the team intends to add locations, characters, enemies and weapons while fixing and refining the game. Treat this as a changing development plan, not a date obtained by adding two years to a search trend. The developer also plans price increases as content arrives, but this source check did not establish a current purchase amount. Do not calculate a guaranteed discount from an unannounced price.

Check Windows, anti-cheat and unfinished requirements before promising compatibility

The page lists Windows while leaving processor and graphics requirements TBC, and declares kernel-level Easy Anti-Cheat. That is not enough information to promise a particular frame rate, Steam Deck compatibility or support on another operating system. We have not tested those configurations. A visible playtest button is not a hardware benchmark.

Use the standard Steam installation and current official instructions if admitted. Do not disable security protections or install an unofficial anti-cheat bypass to make a claimed build run. When reporting a problem, keep the exact error, application identity and installed version while omitting account secrets. For a different source-backed extraction loop, see MW4 DMZ; for another Roblox squad premise, see HUSH. Their access rights, gear-loss rules and progress do not transfer into HUNGER.

Frequently asked questions

Is HUNGER the same as The Hunger Games?
No. This guide identifies GOOD FUN CORPORATION’s extraction RPG by Steam app 1752080, not a product established as a Hunger Games adaptation.
Does Request Access mean I can play immediately?
No. The page says the developer notifies applicants when ready for more participants. We have not verified a guaranteed admission time.
Does no forced wipes mean I cannot lose gear?
No. The store separately describes equipment loss and long-term character progression. It does not establish test-to-release carryover.
Are complete PC requirements or a firm launch date confirmed here?
No. The checked page says Coming soon and marks processor/graphics TBC. We do not invent compatibility, a release day or a purchase price.
