Loftia demo guide: what you can try before Early Access
Find the official Loftia demo, distinguish its city and community project from Early Access pets, and check launch plans without assuming progress transfers.
The demo is available; Early Access is a separate release
Loftia has a free demo on Steam, published by Qloud Games and listed as released on October 19, 2026. It is a cozy multiplayer game set across floating islands, with farming, crafting, decorating and community goals. On October 24, the developer’s site still presents the full Early Access release as upcoming: November 3, 2026 at 1 p.m. EST.
Use the separate demo listing to try the game. A demo download is not ownership of the later paid release, and a store wishlist is not an access entitlement. This is a reading guide to the official listings, not a review based on a completed session. We have not purchased an edition or tested server access from a particular region.
What the demo explicitly includes
The demo page specifically names Loftia City as explorable, with more districts planned for Early Access. It also identifies the first World Project: players work together to prepare a birthday party for Pebble. That is a concrete community objective, rather than evidence that every island and project described in the broader marketing page is already available.
Our suggested first-session plan is to locate the current objective, inspect what contribution it asks for and then decide which gathering or crafting activity serves it. That keeps an attractive long-term feature list from becoming a frustrating checklist of things the demo does not yet offer. Read the actual in-game requirements before spending materials; we do not invent a recipe, required quantity or optimal route from the store description.
Pets are a particularly important demo boundary
The store describes animal companions in the wider game, but adds that owning pets will be available in Early Access. Do not spend a demo session searching for a supposedly guaranteed adoption unlock just because a capybara or turtle appears in the game’s promotional description.
The same care applies to neighbourhoods, farming methods and adventures. The publisher describes hydroponics, aquaponics, trellis farming, renewable energy and shared spaces as part of Loftia’s design. Those statements introduce the game; they are not our verification that every system is fully implemented in the current demo. When deciding whether the game suits you, record both what you actually try and what remains a future expectation.
Platforms, controls and the published price
The developer’s FAQ names Steam and Epic Games Store on Mac and PC, keyboard and mouse plus controller support, and Steam Deck support. It places Nintendo Switch in 2027, rather than treating a console version as available today. Check the requirements for the particular storefront and build you intend to use; support for a controller does not establish cross-platform progress or a shared purchase license.
The developer lists a US Early Access base price of $29.99 and a limited launch discount to $24.89, with regional pricing. Those are published plans checked October 24, not a receipt, currency conversion or guarantee about your local checkout. Optional cosmetics are also mentioned. The demo remains a distinct free trial; there is no reason to pay an unrelated site to obtain it.
Plan a useful trial without assuming save transfer
Try the available city, a gathering-and-crafting loop and the current community objective before deciding how much of the future release interests you. If playing with friends, agree that you are all opening the demo rather than expecting a wishlist entry or preregistration to put everyone in one world.
Keep demo progress and future ownership as separate questions. The sources cited here do not establish a save-transfer guarantee, so this guide promises none. Preserve any account and error details if access fails, and follow support links from the developer’s own site. For another limited trial whose scope differs from its full-game plans, see our ArcheAge Chronicles guide. Neither article claims a completed playtest.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I play Loftia for free now?
- The official Steam demo is listed as free. It is separate from the paid Early Access release. A visible demo listing does not independently prove a particular account or regional server can connect at every moment.
- Can I own pets in the demo?
- The demo page explicitly places pet ownership in Early Access. Do not infer a current adoption route from the broader companion feature description.
- What is the demo’s community project?
- Its store description names preparing a birthday party for Pebble as the first World Project. Actual contribution requirements should be read in the current client rather than guessed here.
- Does demo progress carry over?
- We found no transfer guarantee in the cited sources. This guide does not promise preserved progress, shared storefront ownership or a completed launch feature set.
