Ebbtide guide: release status, city command and the Ark

Updated 3 min readBy GameRadar Editorial

What ProjectAlive’s Ebbtide actually announces: a coming-soon zombie strategy game, continuous city battles, finite supplies and a carrier-based world campaign.

Ebbtide is announced, not a playable release claim

Ebbtide is ProjectAlive’s real-time zombie survival strategy game on Steam. The checked listing says Coming soon rather than giving a release date. You command TF-1 Ark, described as humanity’s last carrier task force, beginning in Los Angeles before a wider campaign. A store page and announcement footage do not establish that a public demo, beta key or finished game is available.

This guide organizes the developer’s published systems so you can decide whether to follow the project. It is not a hands-on review, installation walkthrough or an account of winning a mission. We do not infer a price, exact launch window or final performance from a trailer. Use the developer’s Steam entry for future release and access announcements rather than an unrelated site selling supposed early access.

The operations map and battle are one continuing situation

The developer says zooming from the operations map into a street opens the live battlefield without a loading screen, while zooming out leaves combat running. Losses and destruction carry back to the map; the description explicitly rejects separate missions and hidden automatic resolution. That is different from assuming a map icon safely freezes a battle while you handle another district.

The listed controls allow pausing or accelerating the operations map up to four times. Los Angeles has fifteen districts with Hold, Crisis and Lost states. Our suggested planning question is which area can still be supplied or evacuated, rather than assuming every district can be saved. The store also says only hordes within your forces’ line of sight are visible: an empty-looking road is not a documented guarantee of safety.

Supplies and rescue change more than one battle

The advertised force includes ground units, vehicles and aircraft, with truck and helicopter convoys carrying supplies, troops or refugees. Soldiers, vehicles and aircraft consume ammunition or fuel and need bases you hold to replenish them. Base walls require delivered materials, and the horde can threaten supply roads and convoys.

That makes a base location a logistics decision as well as a firing position. Before assuming a defensive wall solves a problem, ask how resources reach it and how forces leave if the route is cut. This is analysis of the stated systems, not a tested base layout or optimal build order. We do not invent construction costs, ammunition capacity or a guaranteed evacuation route.

Direct control does not mean unlimited fire support

The description names formations and combat stances alongside the ability to press TAB to control a soldier, tank or helicopter directly. It also advertises artillery, naval guns and air support. However, ship magazines are finite and heavy weapons can destroy buildings. The presence of a powerful support option is not evidence that using it has no supply or terrain consequence.

The developer says people, troops, equipment and supplies brought to the Port of LA become the starting force aboard the Ark for the world campaign. Rescuing specialists therefore has a different long-term role from merely increasing a battle score. Do not turn that design statement into a promise that every named feature has already been independently tested or that campaign outcomes are known.

Check unfinished requirements before committing

Steam names Windows and macOS, but leaves important final hardware details unannounced. A preliminary storage or operating-system line is not a complete compatibility guarantee. Wait for finalized requirements for your actual machine rather than upgrading hardware around an unspecified processor or graphics target.

The listing also discloses development use of generated audio, illustrations, selected models and translation assistance, with developer review, and says the game does not generate AI content during play. That disclosure concerns this game, not an unrelated AI tool recommendation. For a different game where demo access and future scope must be separated, see Loftia. Its availability does not establish an Ebbtide demo.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a confirmed Ebbtide release date?
The Steam page checked on October 24 says Coming soon. This guide does not supply a guessed date, price or access entitlement.
Does zooming out end a battle?
The developer describes combat continuing on the same map, with losses and destruction carried back. It should not be read as a separate, safely auto-resolved mission screen.
Is fire support unlimited?
No such promise appears. The description explicitly calls ship magazines finite and says heavy weapons can bring buildings down.
Have you played Ebbtide?
No. The systems and planning questions here come from the developer’s public listing. We have not completed a session, tested a build order or verified a public demo.
