Pokémon Platinum Together: beta access and requirements

Updated 3 min readBy GameRadar Editorial

Platinum Together’s October 19–26 closed beta, Windows requirements, lawful game-copy policy and where official setup instructions will appear.

Can you play Platinum Together today?

As checked on October 21, 2026, Platinum Together’s own beta page says sign-ups are closed. It identifies an October 19–26 closed beta, with access intended to open to everyone afterward. Treat that as the developer’s announced plan, not proof that a public build is already available or a promise about the exact hour it will open.

The distinction matters if you arrive through a multiplayer trailer. Footage establishes that a project is being demonstrated, not that every visitor has a download entitlement. The current site points existing applicants to a Discord application-status check and says setup information will be posted in its updates channel.

We have not joined the private test, installed a beta client or verified a public server. This guide helps you identify the right project and prepare the stated prerequisites without passing off restricted access as a general release.

Check the stated platform and game-copy requirement

The beta page names Windows 10 or 11 and your own clean US Pokémon Platinum game image, dumped from your cartridge. It says ROMs are not included. This is not a browser game, a Switch release or evidence of a supported phone setup.

The project’s terms require a lawfully usable game copy and separate distribution of the mod. They explicitly caution that owning a cartridge does not automatically authorize downloading someone else’s copy or bypassing restrictions. We provide no ROM mirror, bundled game package or workaround for obtaining protected game data.

Our recommendation is to resolve compatibility before spending time on networking. Check the region of the game copy you are entitled to use, the platform stated by the current project instructions and whether you actually have beta access. Do not apply instructions for a different multiplayer modification merely because both projects use Platinum in their name.

Existing applicants: use the official status route

According to the beta page, existing applicants can open #check-application-status in the linked Discord and use Check my application to confirm an application or accept a place. The same page says downloads and setup instructions will appear in #updates. Start from the project website’s links rather than a reposted invite or an unsolicited direct message.

If you did not apply, the closed sign-up form is a reason to wait for a new access announcement, not a reason to buy a supposed invitation. The project’s terms state that its optional supporter membership does not itself grant beta access. We are not recommending a paid contribution as a way around the closed test.

Do not publish an acceptance screenshot containing account details when asking for help. A useful support report can describe your Windows version, the stage that failed and the exact non-sensitive error. It should not contain a private game image, access credential or someone else’s personal information.

What “multiplayer” does not yet guarantee

The current beta page says public Online worlds, matchmaking, online trading and public PvP remain closed. Those explicit limitations are more useful than assuming every multiplayer feature shown in a video is publicly enabled. Before organizing a group, compare the current instructions with the type of session you actually want.

The project is an independent fan modification, not an official Nintendo, Game Freak or Pokémon Company release. Its terms also warn that development software can change and that progress or saves may be affected. Keep an independent backup before testing any modification, and do not assume progress transfers between different projects or later builds.

For an immediately accessible browser-based fan project, our PokéBonk guide explains its own guest entry and device-linked progress model. That is a different game, not a Platinum Together client. If you are planning around another limited test, see the ArcheAge Chronicles demo guide for a separate dated access window.
