Minecraft Dungeons II 1.1.3.0: CH1, co-op and quest fixes explained

Updated 3 min readBy GameRadar Editorial

The October 22 Minecraft Dungeons II hotfix addresses CH1 login stability, couch co-op locks, artifact slots and quest progression. Check the right update safely.

Which Minecraft update is 1.1.3.0?

1.1.3.0 is a Minecraft Dungeons II hotfix posted by Minecraft Feedback on October 22, 2026. The official notice says it is available on all platforms. It is not a Bedrock Preview build, a Java snapshot or a patch for the first Minecraft Dungeons. Match the complete game title before deciding that a launcher is missing an update.

We read the developer's notice on October 23. This page organizes its fixes by symptom and suggests a cautious checking order; we have not installed the patch or reproduced every issue. An all-platform announcement does not prove that every account has already downloaded the new files or that an unrelated server outage has ended.

CH1 and couch co-op are different problems

The notes report improved login stability around CH1. They also describe a fixed hard lock involving a couch co-op group returning from the Overworld to the main menu, with the second player removed while attempting to create or select a Hero. That is a specific published scenario, not a statement that all login or split-screen problems have the same cause.

Our recommendation is to record where the failure occurs: before joining, at the menu transition or during character selection. Check the installed version through the normal platform interface. If the same symptom persists after the update, keep its exact message for support rather than relabel it as a different code. Do not disable account protection, delete a character or repeatedly buy the game to diagnose a login response.

Artifact slots: distinguish an unusable slot from a cooldown

The hotfix lists MCD2-135, concerning artifact slots becoming unusable after rapid successive use. That description is narrower than a balance change to every artifact. It does not establish a new strongest loadout, a lower cooldown or unlimited activation. We do not infer combat statistics from a stability fix.

Before replacing your equipment, observe what the interface actually shows. Is there a visible cooldown, an input that does not respond or a slot that remains unavailable? Those observations help a report without requiring a guessed explanation. Avoid repeatedly changing bindings, equipment and settings together if you want to identify the affected condition. This is a diagnostic suggestion, not a verified reproduction procedure or guaranteed recovery method.

Quest fixes: keep the named location with your report

The notice fixes the Prime Enchanter arena staying lowered after leaving and rejoining a session, blocking progression, under MCD2-67. It also corrects objective markers in Wrath of the Sculkers and Training with the Enchantsmith, the latter linked to MCD2-23. Extra player icons in the online quest journal are another listed fix.

For a lingering issue, distinguish a wrong marker from a physically blocked arena. Write down the quest name and whether you had left and rejoined. Do not reset an entire campaign merely because a marker is confusing, and do not assume another player's post describes your current quest stage. The patch note gives a supported reason to update; it does not supply a complete quest walkthrough or promise that every progression problem is solved.

Install normally, then compare one symptom at a time

The remaining notes cover updated game icons and a fix for opening the Deluxe Edition store page on Nintendo Switch. A changed icon is not proof that a paid upgrade was added to your account. Inspect your actual edition and purchase history if ownership is the question, rather than treating a cosmetic icon change as a receipt.

Use the platform's standard update process and preserve existing saves with its supported tools. If a problem remains, include platform, installed version, exact symptom and relevant official issue identifier in a report through the notice's feedback links. Never publish passwords or account recovery information with that report. For the separate base game's testing branch, see Minecraft Preview; for another migration-sensitive update, see Enshrouded. Those games have different files and fixes.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a Minecraft Bedrock Preview update?
No. The official notice names Minecraft Dungeons II. Do not apply it to a Java or Bedrock installation.
Does improved CH1 stability guarantee my account can log in?
No. It is a published stability improvement, not a live test of your account or a guarantee against unrelated service problems.
Did the patch change the best artifact build?
The cited artifact change fixes unusable slots after rapid use. It does not provide evidence for a new damage ranking.
Have you verified every fix in gameplay?
No. We checked the official patch note and separated its claims from our suggested diagnostic order.
